Direct Messages

Send a direct message to an individual

  1. In Chat, on the left sidebar in the Chat section, click the plus sign.

  2. Begin typing the name of the individual you want to contact. Choose their name from the list when it appears.

  3. Your message with them will open.

Send a direct message to a group

  1. In Chat, on the left sidebar in the Chat section, click the plus sign.

  2. Choose Start group conversation.

  3. Enter the names of those you want to add. Click the check mark or press Enter when finished.

  4. Your new group message will now open.

Messaging Features

Add documents, presentations, images, and more in your conversations. Google Drive files you attach in a conversation are automatically shared with all participants who have Comment access.

  1. Add a file from Google Drive or create a Google Calendar invitation.

  2. Text box (where you type your messages)

  3. Text formatting (opens small toolbar below text box)

  4. Emojis

  5. GIFs

  6. Upload a file from your computer/device

  7. Start an instant Google Meet

  8. Send message
