Google Maps

Google Maps is no longer accessible with a SOM Google account.

You may have recently received the following error message when attempting to access Google Maps with your UNLV Google account.

This is due to the fact that Google Maps is not covered by SOM’s BAA with Google.

In order to process patient data, a company must sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) that lays out the ways the vendor is required to safeguard patient privacy. Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV has a BAA with Google, and Google Maps is not HIPAA compliant.

Google Maps is still accessible while using an incognito window in Google Chrome.

Incognito Mode is a way to browse the web privately without Google Chrome remembering your activity.
