Student iPad Setup - Class of 2026

The School of Medicine Class of 2027 is the final class to receive an iPad Pro through the school.
Step 1: Set Up Face ID or Touch ID and create a passcode
Please follow the instructions below to complete the iPad setup.
| 1 | Turn on your iPad. |  |
| 2 | Tap Settings. |  |
| 3 | Tap Face ID & Passcode. | |
| 4 | Tap Turn Passcode On and follow instructions to complete. For security reasons, do not reuse passcodes such as bank PINs. |

Step 2: Configure Wireless
| 1 | Tap Settings. | |
| 2 | Tap on WiFi and select UNLV-WiFi. | |
| 3 | You will be redirected to the UNLV-Wifi page.

| 4 | At the prompt, enter your ACE username and password. Tap join. |  |
| 5 | If prompted, Allow to open Settings. | |
| 6 | Go to General and under Profiles, tap on the eduroam Profile prompt and choose Install. |  |
| 7 | Once it complete, choose Done. |  |
| 8 | The iPad will automatically connect to WiFi network eduroam. | |
The eduroam connection is good for one year after the date of setup. After the one year is over, you will need to follow the same instructions to reconnect.
Step 3: Pair your Apple Pencil and connect your keyboard
Attach the Apple Pencil to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad Pro.

Unlike Bluetooth keyboards, you don't need to pair or turn on your Smart Keyboard.
Connect your Smart Keyboard Folio to your iPad Pro with the Smart Connector. The Smart Connector is on the back of your iPad Pro, and has three small, magnetic contacts.

Step 4: Additional Apple Setup
Sign in/Setup your Apple ID
Your Apple ID is the account that you use to access all Apple services and make all of your devices work together seamlessly. If you do not have a personal Apple ID, create one here.
Do not use your Rebelmail email address as your Apple ID.
Go to Settings.
Tap Sign in to your iPad.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
If you protect your account with two-factor authentication, enter the six-digit verification code and complete sign in.
Sign into iCloud
Go to Settings.
iCloud > Enter your Apple ID and password.
Setup “Find my iPad”
Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Find My iPhone.
Slide to turn on Find My iPhone and Send Last Location.
Step 5: Get to Know your iPad
Install the SOM recommended applications.
