Experian - Change Healthcare (Optum) Security Incident - 2024-02-22

UPDATE 2024-02-26

  • Experian teams continue to actively evaluate and reroute transactions when an alternative route is available.

  • As transactions get rerouted, you may see some previously failed transactions begin to process.

On Wednesday, February 21, Change Healthcare (Optum) announced that they experienced a cybersecurity incident. Experian’s Cyber Incident Response team and Cyber Threat Intelligence teams have been engaged and are closely monitoring the situation.

While there is no evidence of a threat to Experian, Experian has temporarily severed connectivity to Change Healthcare out of an abundance of caution and to be consistent with their security practices.

Experian will resume connectivity to Change when it receives assurances from Change Healthcare that it has adequately contained the threat.
