How to Map Your H (Home) Drive When Working Remotely

Sometimes, when working remotely, the H drive doesn’t always connect. This can happen if your drives try to map to your computer before the VPN connection is established. If you are working remotely on a UNLV Laptop and your H drive is missing, use the following steps to re-map it:

Ensure you are connected to the VPN.

Once connected to VPN, open a File Explorer window.

In the File Explorer window, click on the Map network drive dropdown and choose Map network drive.

In the Map Network Drive window

  1. Select H: from the Drive dropdown

  2. In the Folder field, type the following:

    1. \\unlvmedfs01\users$\username

      1. Username is your SOM account/computer username - usually firstname.lastname

  3. Make sure the Reconnect at sign-in box is checked

  4. Click Finish.

Your H drive should now be mapped and accessible.
