Tagging Users
When typing a message in Google Chat, type @ and start typing the person’s name. As you type, their name will populate in a popup for you to click on. If the person you’re trying to tag is not in the room, it will give you a quick option to add them to the room.
Tagging a user will send them a notification in Chat.

Threads keep conversations organized in Google Chat rooms. You can create a new thread for a new topic of conversation for easy reference.
