Tagging Users
When typing a message in Google Chat, type @ and start typing the person’s name to call them out. As you type, their name will populate in a popup for you to click on. If the person you’re trying to tag is not in the roomspace you are typing in, it will give you a quick option to add them to the roomspace.
Tagging a user will send them a notification in Chat.
Threads
Threads keep conversations organized in Google Chat roomsspaces. You can create a new thread for a new topic of conversation for easy reference.
Conversation threading can be turned off when creating a new Google Chat space.
