All UNLV Health and School of Medicine employees have a SOM Account.
All medical students have a SOM Account.
With a few exceptions, your SOM account is firstname.lastname

Logging into SOM IT-managed computers at any School of Medicine or UNLV Health location
Connecting personal devices to the KSOM BYOD or UNLVMED BYOD wireless networks
Accessing School of Medicine or UNLV Health network drives (H:) (G:) (K:) (U:)
How do I change my SOM password?
Changing SOM Password
If you know your password and want to change it, log into a SOM IT-managed computer and press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your keyboard.
Choose Change Password.
SOM Password Requirements
Uppercase letter (A-Z)
lowercase letter (a-z)
Number (0-9)
Symbols (#, %, $ etc)
Minimum of 8 characters
Computers in the Health Sciences Library at MEB are not managed by SOM IT, meaning you cannot change your SOM password from these computers.
I forget my SOM password. What do I do?
Call the SOM Help Desk! Call 702-895-0451 for assistance.
I’m locked out of my SOM account. What do I do?
Give the SOM Help Desk a quick call at 702-895-0451 to have your account unlocked.
How do I connect my personal device (mobile phone, tablet, etc) to the Wi-Fi?
If you are at the Medical Education Building (MEB - 625 Shadow Lane), connect to the KSOM BYOD network.
If you are at any UNLV Health location, connect to the UNLVMED BYOD network.
Both of these networks require your SOM account credentials.
When you change your SOM password, you must forget the BYOD Wi-Fi network on any personal devices you have connected. Forget the network and reconnect with your new password.
Be sure to do this right away to avoid being locked out of your account.
