Note

The Okta Verify app does not track you or take any data from your device.

Your experience may differ slightly from the steps outlined below as our systems are continuously being improved. The main process is the same.

Okta Verify

Method 1 - Smartphone only

Download and open the Okta Verify app on your mobile device

Click on the Plus button to add Organization

If asked to add account from another device, choose Skip

When asked “Do you have your QR code” select No, Sign In Instead

For “Enter Your Organization’s Sign-In URL” enter NSHE-UNLV

You will then be prompted to Sign into ACE. Follow the On Screen Instructions to finish enrollment. You should be successfully enrolled after signing into your account.

Method 2 - Smartphone & computer

Download the Okta Verify app on your mobile device

Log into your Okta dashboard on your computer using your ACE credentials - ace.unlv.edu

Click on your name in the top right corner of the screen and choose Settings.

Scroll to Extra Verification and select Set up next to Okta Verify.

You may be prompted to re-enter your ACE password.

Under Okta Verify, choose Setup.

Select your device type (iPhone or Android).

You will see a QR code on your computer screen.

  1. Open the Okta Verify app.

    1. If it’s your first time opening the app, you’ll see a brief introduction.

  2. Choose Add Account

  3. Choose Organization

  4. Choose Yes that you have a QR code, then scan the QR code on the screen with your phone’s camera.

    1. You may be prompted to give the app access to your camera.

  5. If prompted, allow push notifications on your device so that you can approve future sign-in notifications quickly.

Once this is complete, the “Extra Verification” section in your web browser should now show Remove next to Okta Verify.

This means you are good to go!

Tip

When logging in with your into ACE ID, you will receive a push notification on your mobile device.

If you have any issues with the notificationsnotification, you can open the Okta Verify app and manually enter the code provided to you. (See end of clip in step 7 above)
