Step 1: Set Up Face ID or Touch ID and create a passcode

Please follow the instructions below to complete the iPad setup.

Turn on your iPad.

Tap Turn Passcode On and follow instructions to complete.

For security reasons, do not reuse passcodes such as bank PINs.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi

Tap Settings.

Tap on Wi-Fi and select KSOM BYOD.

You will be prompted for your SOM credentials.

Your SOM account username is firstname.lastname

The iPad will now automatically connect to the KSOM BYOD Wi-Fi network.

Step 3: Pair your Apple Pencil and connect your keyboard

Attach the Apple Pencil to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad Pro to initiate pairing.

  • Unlike Bluetooth keyboards, you don't need to pair or turn on your Smart Keyboard.

  • Connect your Smart Keyboard Folio to your iPad Pro with the Smart Connector. The Smart Connector is on the back of your iPad Pro, and has three small, magnetic contacts.

Step 4: Additional Apple Setup

Sign in/Setup your Apple ID

Your Apple ID is the account that you use to access all Apple services and make all of your devices work together seamlessly. If you do not have a personal Apple ID, create one here.

Warning

Do not use your Rebelmail email address as your Apple ID.

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap Sign in to your iPad.

  3. Enter your Apple ID and password.

  4. If you protect your account with two-factor authentication (strongly recommended), enter the six-digit verification code and complete sign in.

Sign into iCloud

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. iCloud > Enter your Apple ID and password.

Setup “Find my iPad”

  1. Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Find My iPhone.

  3. Slide to turn on Find My iPhone and Send Last Location.
